Flying Fish Special Needs Aquatic Classes

Ages 3-12.  This class offers one-on-one swim instruction for those individuals who have physical or emotional special needs.  A parent, sibling, or responsible friend is invited to be in the water as a volunteer or to assist the instructor.  Classes meet for half-hour classes once a week for 8 weeks.

CAMP SILVER LAKE

Special needs day camp for children with ADD/ADHD, Sensory Integration dysfunction, Autism, Down Syndrome, Speech/Language impairments, and developmental delays.  Located in New Carlisle, OH, camp is 20 minutes from Dayton.  

  

  

  

TOPSOCCER

The Outreach Program for Soccer national soccer program created to train young people with disabilities in a caring coaching environment. The program is generally carried out by volunteers at the local level, with financial support from US Youth Action from a Top Soccer Game - Photo by Scott LederSoccer and the program's local youth soccer organization such as OSYSA.

By providing a community-based training and team placement program for young people with disabilities, any boy or girl, age 5 to 19 who has a mental or physical disability will have the opportunity to learn and play soccer and become valued and successful members of OSYSA and the US Youth Soccer family.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

THERAPEUTIC RIDING INSTITUTE FOR THE DISABLED

Meeting the physical, mental and psychological needs of children and adults of the Dayton area by providing horseback riding therapy.

  

  

CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASS (SPECIAL NEEDS)

Classes provide creative movement and imagination.This class provides exciting themes, music, tumbling and props to encourage active participation. This enriching program strengthens coordination and cognitive skills in a positive manner. Parents must participate with their child.

  

MATILDA BLUE ADAPTIVE TENNIS

These classes, started by Chris Cubbage, the parent of a child with autism, provide an interactive, recreational experience for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families.  Chris, a USPTA certified tennis professional, has designed the classes to seek active participation of the entire family, especially the siblings who don't have a disability.  Spring/Summer classes are offered at the Hollinger Tennis Club, 201 Shafor Blvd, Dayton, OH 45409.  Fall/Winter classes are held indoors at Dayton Center Courts.  For more information contact Chris Cubbage at 937-304-6892 or by.
