Best Buy donates to DAS through Tag Team Award

Miamisburg, October 30, 2008

Tina Clark, General Manager of Best Buy, Dayton Mall, recently presented the Dayton Autism Society with a check in the amount of $2,200.00 through their Best Buy Children's Foundation Tag Team Awards Program.

The Best Buy website states:  As a Company, and through our Foundation, we work with nonprofit organizations to support programs that provide opportunities for youth. Our goal is to provide positive experiences that will help them to excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop leadership skills. We also support national organizations that provide essential social services, such as the United Way and American Red Cross, to improve the vitality of the communities where our employees and customers live and work.

We know that each community where we operate is unique. That's why we created a local giving program allowing Territory teams to decide how Best Buy Children's Foundation funds are used to impact their local area. The company also encourages local volunteerism by providing charitable gifts to organizations where employees volunteer.

The Dayton Autism Society has earmarked these funds for the Adopt-A-Family program and possibly the Family Grant. 100% of the funds will be used to benefit families in the greater Dayton area.

Nancy Bernotaitis, president of the Dayton Autism Society states, "We are very grateful to have the support of Best Buy and hope they will continue to support our efforts as we prepare for our bigger and better Walk for Autism on April 4, 2009 and many exciting events and programs for the community and the families we serve."
