Autism Sunday - the International Day of Prayer for Autism and Asperger's Syndrome falls on the SECOND SUNDAY in February every year.

AUTISM SUNDAY and the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR AUTISM & ASPERGER'S SYNDROME falls on Sunday 10th February 2008.

Churches of all denominations around the world remember people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome in prayer.

Autism Sunday was initiated in 2002 Autism Awareness Year in the United Kingdom by parents Ivan and Charika Corea. They have a son Charin who has ASD. The Corea Family launched an Autism Awareness Campaign in the UK in 2000.


 
*There are 60 million people with autism around the world.

*In the United Kingdom there are 587,900 people with autism and 133,000 young people under the age of 18 have autism according to the National Autistic Society.

According to researchers 1 in 100 children in the United Kingdom may have autism spectrum disorder.
