Beavercreek, May 9, 2008

On Friday, May 9, 2008, the Dayton Autism Society was the proud recipient of a $2,500.00 donation from Wal-Mart, Beavercreek through the Good Works Program.

This program encourages Wal-Mart employees to volunteer within the community and for individual Wal-Marts to give back to their local community.

A large number of local Wal-Mart employees formed a group and walked in the Dayton Autism Sociey's 1st annual 5K Walk for Autism and Information Expo on Saturday, April 19th.   In addition to their individual contributions, the local Wal-Mart managers challenged each other to contribute through the Good Works program and the donations are still coming in.

The Dayton Autism Society is extremely grateful for the contributions of the employees and management of our local Wal-Mart stores, and look forward to an on-going relationship with them.  Wal-Mart supports the community and the Dayton Autism Society supports local families affected by autism.  Together, we will make a difference.
